The Richard W. Kotch Jr. Agency was established in October 1988 in Cranberry Township, PA. In April 1998 we moved to Butler, PA and have been in the same building since that time. We have been proudly serving the Butler, Cranberry Township and surrounding communities for 32 years. As one of the longest serving Insurance Agents in the area, we look forward to many more great years together.

Richard W. Kotch Jr.

After graduating from Butler Senior High School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Rich immediately went into the insurance industry as a claims adjuster for Nationwide. In 1988 he became an agent with Nationwide building his own agency from the ground up. Along the way he was mentored by Stephen Varva and Joseph Phillips. Rich frequently mentions dedication and patience of his wife, Lisa, while he was building his career.

Rich has long been active in the community supporting It’s About The Warrior and the Folds of Honor foundations. When his sons, Tyler and Tanner, were high school students he spent his free time coaching the Butler Elementary Boys Lacrosse team for several years.

 Today, Rich is as involved in his agency as he was 32 years ago. He is looking forward to a new chapter as the agency rebrands itself; no longer a Nationwide Exclusive Agency but now a brokerage agency as Kotch Insurance Agency, offering many of the top carriers in the industry. Rich relishes this opportunity to give his customers not only exceptional service, but more choices to meet their insurance needs.

 When not at the agency, Rich can be found enjoying nature on a golf course or visiting his sons in North Carolina.

Office Manager/Licensed Sales & Service Agent

Kimberly Kresh

Kim first met Rich Kotch while working for a local plumbing and heating company as the office manager. Immediately impressed by the level of service offered by Rich and his staff, Kim and her husband, Dan, switched their personal insurance to the Kotch Nationwide Agency.  In the spring of 2013, Kim was looking for a change in career at the same time Rich was looking for a new staff member. Since then, Kim’s responsibilities at the agency have evolved; she obtained her insurance license, writes policies, and handles the service and billing issues for the agency’s customers as well as managing the office

Kim enjoys that the insurance industry requires continuing education credits because she is both an avid reader and intends to never stop learning.  

Outside the office, besides being Dan’s wife, she is a mother to three grown children, and grandmother to five little ones. She is also working on learning German, enjoys genealogy, and traveling. She plans to learn to Scuba dive in the near future.

Colten Raabe

Born and raised in the Butler and Slippery Rock areas, Colten graduated from Slippery Rock High School and Slippery Rock University, while starting as an offensive lineman on both football teams. While at Slippery Rock University he majored in Marketing. After graduation he naturally gravitated to the insurance industry following in his father, Ken’s,  footsteps. Starting his career with Aflac and obtaining his insurance license in life, accident and health, Colten was a great fit at the Kotch Insurance Agency to help expand the new offerings in employee benefits.  Colten has recently also added property and casualty licensing to his insurance license.  He is looking forward to increasing the business offerings at Kotch Insurance agency by discussing employee benefit plans with commercial customers.

Colten has a passion for his wife, Amanda and their dogs, Daisy and Miller. He is an avid athlete enjoying basketball and golf, and the enjoying outdoors. He spends his weekends either on the golf course or fishing. Amanda tolerates those interests.
